Mayurasana (peacock)
I am pleased to announce the next Level 2 Yoga Immersion program. I invite you to join me on this exciting and deeply rewarding yoga journey.
Please note the class duration will be an hour and 45 minutes.
Prerequisite:
- An ongoing yoga practice including asana and pranayama.
- Ability to practice basic asanas and asana sequences like Surya Namaskara etc.

- What: 14-day yoga immersion, Level 2

Padmasana (Lotus Pose)
Daily Practice will include:
Asanas
- Develop a better understanding of the asanas that we practice in the basic level 1 sequence and explore how to go deeper in each of these basic asanas.
- Practice some more challenging variations of the basic asanas.
- Gradually learn a few more level 2 asanas like the Mayurasana (peacock), Shirshasana (headstand), Bakasana (crane) etc. We’ll learn the various asanas or sequences of asanas that can help us prepare for these level 2 poses.
Pranayama
- In our pranayama practices, we’ll learn how to become aware of the entire breathing process and explore different components of each breathing cycle.
- Various pranayama (breathing techniques) practices will include – kapalabhati (breath of fire), bhastrika (bellows breath), a number of deep breathing practices, Bhramari (humming bee breath), sectional breathing, cooling breaths, breath retention (kumbhaka), bandhas (energy locks) and more.
- We’ll integrate the bandhas into many of the basic pranayama practices.
Meditation
We will develop an understanding of what meditation is all about, its benefits, and how to establish an ongoing practice. We’ll also practice a few simple meditation techniques.
Deep relaxation
Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation) helps not only relax the body but also helps calm the nerves, calm the mind and activate the parasympathetic nervous system which helps reduce stress levels
Yoga philosophy
Concepts from yoga philosophy will be sprinkled through the practice of asana, pranayama and meditation so we can develop a deeper understanding of the yoga practice as well as learn more about ourselves, and how to keep the mind calm and peaceful.
