I am pleased to present an audio recording of the monthly workshop on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali held on Saturday, 8/17/19:

Brief summary of what we covered:

We continued the discussion of chapter 2. This chapter covers the concepts of Kriya Yoga, kleshas (afflictions), karma theory, insight into the Samkhya philosophy and the eight limbs of yoga. We covered the following sutras:

• Sutra 2.24 (ignorance – cause of union between purusha and prakriti)
• Sutra 2.25 (absence of union leads to liberation)
• Sutra 2.26 (Discriminative wisdom means of libeation)
• Sutra 2.27 (Seven stages of pure intuitive wisdom)
• Sutra 2.28 (self-realization through the practice of eight limbs of yoga)
