I am pleased to present an audio recording of the monthly workshop on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali held on Saturday, 06/15/19:

Brief summary of what we covered:

We continued the discussion of chapter 2. This chapter covers the concepts of Kriya Yoga, kleshas (afflictions), karma theory, insight into the Samkhya philosophy and the eight limbs of yoga. We covered the following sutras:

• Sutra 2.19 (four stages of gunas)
• Sutra 2.20 (purusha, even though pure, follows mind)
• Sutra 2.21 (prakriti for the sake of purusha)
• Sutra 2.22 (after liberation prakriti exists for other non-liberated souls)
• Sutra 2.23 (purpose of union between purusha and prakriti)
