I am pleased to present an audio recording of the monthly workshop on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali held on Saturday, 08/18/18:
Brief summary of what we covered:
We continued the discussion on the three stages of meditation – dharana, dhyana and samadhi, the last three of the eight limbs of yoga. We covered the following sutras:
- Sutra 1.41 (oneness of observer, observed and observation)
- Sutra 1.42 (Savitarka – gross level)
- Sutra 1.43 (nirvitarka – without gross level)
- Sutra 1.44 (savichara/nirvichara – subtle level)
- Sutra 1.45 (subtlest level)
- Sutra 1.46 (sabija – samadhi with seed)
- Sutra 1.47 (sabija – cont.)

Dear Subhash,
Good to hear your voice after a long time. The Yoga and Pranayama lessons that you taught me at the Krishna temple in Marlboro, NJ has become embedded in me. Not a day goes by with out my daily Yoga practice.
It all boils down to ‘Yogas Chitta Vritti Nirodha’.
