I am pleased to present an audio recording of the monthly workshop on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali held on Saturday, 10/20/18:
Brief summary of what we covered:
We continued the discussion on the three stages of meditation – dharana, dhyana and samadhi, the last three of the eight limbs of yoga. Since many of the participants were attending the session for the first time, we spent some time reviewing the 8 limbs of yoga. We also went briefly over the sutras 1.41 – 1.47 that we had covered last time. We continued the discussion on meditation and covered the following sutras:
- Sutra 1.47 (nirvichara samadhi cont.)
- Sutra 1.48 (what is “prajna”)
- Sutra 1.49 (prajna cont.)
- Sutra 1.50 (prajna and samskara)
- Sutra 1.51 (nirbija or seedless samadhi)
You can listen to the podcast as well as subscribe to it on itunes here.
