I am pleased to present an audio recording of the monthly workshop on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali held on Saturday, 6/20/20.

Sutra 2.20: draṣṭā dr̥śimātraḥ śuddho-‘pi pratyaya-anupaśyaḥ ॥20॥
The Seer is nothing but the power of seeing which, although pure, appears to see through the mind.
Sutra 2.21: tadartha eva dr̥śyasya-ātmā ॥21॥
The seen exists only for the sake of the Seer.
Sutra 2.22: kr̥tārthaṁ pratinaṣṭaṁ-apy-anaṣṭaṁ tadanya sādhāraṇatvāt ॥22॥
Although destroyed for him who has attained liberation, it [the seen] still exists for others, being common to them.
Sutra 2.23: svasvāmi-śaktyoḥ svarūp-oplabdhi-hetuḥ saṁyogaḥ ॥23॥
The union of Owner (Purusha) and owned (Prakiti) causes the recognition of the nature and powers of them both.
Sutra 2.24: tasya hetur-avidyā ॥24॥
The cause of this union is ignorance.
